TD Bank, through the TD Charitable Foundation, recently donated $2,100 to Literacy Volunteers of Gloucester County as part of the bank’s commitment to giving back to the community. Literacy Volunteers of Gloucester County (LVGC) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to train volunteers to tutor adults to read, write, and speak the English language. LVGC has served all Gloucester County adult residents regardless of race, religion, income, etc. with free one-on-one tutoring services for over 25 years. “The organization will use these funds from the TD Charitable Foundation to add an additional Tutor Training to train more volunteers and help alleviate the students waiting for tutor services.” said Executive Director, Trudy Lawrence. Board President Robert Wetherall, says “Despite the fact that our services remain in great demand, economic challenges have made it increasingly difficult for the organization.
